Community Groups
Seeing Jesus - Being Transformed - Loving Well
What is Community All About?
Connecting with people makes all the difference. One of the key ways for you to connect at Christ Community is by getting involved in one of our Community Groups. It is the primary ministry vehicle at Christ Community.
In fact, Christianity is about community - a group of people who share engaging, sacrificial and loving relationships together. Contrary to American individualism, the message of the Bible is never just about "me and Jesus." Rather, we read the Bible and are confronted with a vocabulary of salvation that focuses on the whole, not just the individual. All Scripture echoes the covenant promise of God, "I will be your God and you will be my people." God is passionate for a people who enjoy one another as they enjoy all he is and does. We might even say it like this: "Worshipping community is the goal of the Gospel."
What are Community Groups About?
Our community groups consist of small groups of individuals and couples who gather together around scripture, prayer, sharing and mission. Our vision is simple yet lofty. It requires us to trust in a great God with an amazing message. Community groups exist to help each of us see Jesus, be transformed and love well. We want people experiencing the power of the gospel by seeing all Jesus is and has done. We want people to have their hearts transformed through repentance and faith and we want people learning to love well by understanding how well they are loved in Christ.
How Do I Get Plugged In?
Currently there are 8 groups meeting in various areas around our community 3 to 4 times a month. You are encouraged to become involved by:
1. Contacting a group leader on the list to the right. They would love to have you.
2. Attend one of the monthly community group visitor luncheons on the last Sunday of each month. Our community groups take turns hosting these luncheons as an opportunity for people to get to know one another in a relaxed, social setting.
