Community Groups
Christianity is about community - a group of people who share engaging, sacrificial and loving relationships together. Contrary to American individualism, the message of the Bible is never just about "me and Jesus." Rather, we read the Bible and are confronted with a vocabulary of salvation that focuses on the whole not just the individual. All echo the covenant promise of God, "I will be your God and you will be my people." We might even say it like this: "Community is the goal of the Gospel."
Connecting with people makes all the difference and one of the key ways for you to connect at Christ Community is by getting involved in one of our Community Groups. Community Groups are small groups of individuals and couples that come together in homes to experience community through fellowship, prayer, Bible study and outreach activities.
Our Community Groups are a way for you to build lasting relationships in our church. The groups consist of 5-7 families coming together in people's homes to experience community through fellowship, prayer, bible study and mission. Community Groups will help you grow in your spiritual-life and challenge you to think about the surrounding community. The purpose statement is: "We gather together as a community to experience Jesus Christ in our midst ministering to us and through us to one another so that our lives and communities are changed."
Currently there are 8 groups meeting in various areas around our community 3 to 4 times a month; you are encouraged to become involved. For more information, please call the CCPC office at 863.644.7717 or email office@ccpclakeland.org. |
