Mercy / Missions
"We do not exist for ourselves, but for others." Therefore, we cultivate ministries that compel us to move outward into our neighborhoods, the city of Lakeland and throughout the world. We challenge our people with the call to missions, equip them to minister and to learn what it means to partner with others to see the Kingdom come to Lakeland, the surrounding areas, and around the world. To learn more about the missionaries we support see below:
When we look at the Scriptures and the life of Jesus, we see that mercy in a Christian's life is not optional; it is an inevitable by-product of truly experiencing God's mercy. It has been said that the ministry of mercy is "the meeting of 'felt' needs through deeds." We encourage, equip, and mobilize our people to contribute their resources (time, energy, money, skills) so that mercy ministries flourish in Lakeland. This will have both an inward and outward focus. An inward focus ministry within our church (to your neighborhood, coworkers, family-usually through community groups) and an outward focus, ministry to the greater city. Therefore, we want to create ministries and opportunities for our people to "be" the gospel to others.
We have no illusions that our single church is sufficient to renew all of Lakeland or other areas spiritually, socially, and culturally, therefore, we are committed to planting (and helping others plant) new churches in Lakeland and around the world. We want our church to experience partnerships with others to see Jesus transform lives in Lakeland and then the world.
Our church partners with Missions To North America to respond to disasters throughout our country. We want to provide our people an opportunity to serve those suffering from a natural disaster.
